Our team
The team of the non-profit organisation consists of eight active members and around ten people who provide support during our events in Belgium.
We can also count on Florent and Espoir, who live in the village of Lukunga and ensure a strong link between us and the local community. Since the end of 2024, Macaire has had a permanent office in Lukunga.
On average, we hold three meetings per year, during which we review the requests received from the village with a view to future projects in Lukunga, as well as the events organised in Belgium to raise funds.

Jean-Michel Bosmans
President
Active since the creation of the non-profit organisation, he continues to support and lead projects in the village of Lukunga. Trained as both an engineer and a lawyer, he puts his knowledge at the service of the projects carried out there. On average, Jean-Michel travels to the village of Lukunga once a year.

Rever. Macaire Gitango
He is the initiator of the project. In 2008, he launched an appeal to finance the construction of a first-aid post, a project that marked the beginning of the non-profit organisation. After living in Belgium for more than 24 years, he returned to his native village, where he now ensures the permanent presence of the organisation’s office in Lukunga.

Christian Cooreman
Thérèse and Christian have been among the active families in the non-profit organisation since the very beginning. Their children even took part in the youth trips in 2010 and 2012. We can always count on Thérèse and Christian for the events we organise in Belgium.

Christian Rezette
Christian is a long-time friend of the Cooreman family. He was deeply moved by the projects and by the mission that the non-profit organisation is carrying out in Lukunga. As a public health coordinator, we have been able to count on his support for several years for the projects we are developing in Belgium.

Karen Claes
Karen, a nurse at UZ Leuven, joined the non-profit organisation after her daughter Clémentine’s trip to Lukunga in 2012. Since then, she has been actively involved in our meetings and is one of the people who contribute in a very concrete way to the development of the association.

Florent Muzeya
Florent is a child of the village who studied agricultural engineering in Kinshasa. He then returned to the village, where he develops projects such as fish farming ponds, agroforestry, and a model farm. He is one of the pillars of the non-profit organisation, as he coordinates projects that create meaningful impact.

Aymeric Hennebel
Aymeric was one of the young people who travelled to Lukunga in 2012. Since then, he has remained actively involved in the non-profit organisation. In 2019, together with Grégoire, he launched a vintage car rally in Beauvechain to finance a new project centred on Artemisia. This activity has since become an annual source of funding. Aymeric also puts his scientific expertise at the service of the village.
